Asherah had a great designer who had created a site ‘look’ in Photoshop but didn’t have the knowledge to create a working website for her. Using pure html and css, we created the first version of this website in 2010. In 2012, when she was ready to begin blogging, we converted the site to WordPress.

This website for a local Civil Engineer features  dynamic client testimonials, a Pinterest integration and a pop-up contact call to action on every page.

Bone Flower Botanikals is one of the many creative endeavors showcased here by my friend Venus. Her existing brand was beautiful and translated easily into web site design. After launching the first version (with e-commerce and facebook integration) Venus quickly wanted to expand her online reach.

We upgraded her site to a 3 column grid. This enabled her to have additional navigation systems for some of her other creative endeavors. She wanted to start blogging and add sections for many of her other projects. She wanted her contact information easier to find.

Chaya had an existing WordPress installation that she wanted me to convert to the design we used for a previous website. She was also ready to expand her web presence with a blog. We added a dynamic testimonials section and shopping cart, so her clients could pay online prior to their session. We implemented a strong call to action that brought in new prospects almost immediately.  She is also planning to have interactive follow-up discussions with her course students.

Chaya and I enjoyed what I have now deemed ’empowerment sessions’ where we sat together with laptops open and worked to co-create content, tackle challenges and talk through taxonomies.      Chaya understands the importance and power of engaging and robust content and is in the process of working hard to expand her content. With our first website project, she developed a monthly newsletter program to stay in touch with her clients. She is planning to expand her social media presence in 2013.

Sure looks weird around here....

Remember the website I had 10 years ago that said ‘The Shoemakers’ children never have any shoes?’ I’m here again to say I’m too damn busy with projects to make this website prettier for now, but I had to disable those items that were not serving my site.

Don’t use old tech, kids! Just like I tell my clients. If you let your site get out of date, it’s not secure.
